That's good for starting -- and should be OK. If pumping it a few extra times doesn't do the trick maybe you could change the start retard to only take out 10 degrees and see if that helps. _________________ E85 racer and E85 carb builder

I pumped it 5 times and it started but died after a couple of seconds. I gave it a couple more and it started up and idled fine with no backfiring, so more gas seems to be the ticket.
The engine has no problems turning over with the current timing setup. It doesn't have any kickback or grunting either.
This supercharger and E85 stuff is all new to me so I appreciate all of your help. _________________ 64 Nova 2 Dr HT

Its a carb. Even in 100 deg. weather you may have to work the throttle a bit to keep it running after it starts. The motor needs to warm a bit to idle normally. _________________ ----------------------

That sounds good. To fine tune, you might try opening the idle mixture screws a 1/4 turn and see if that helps with the cold starts. If it helps, great -- if not you can always put it back. _________________ E85 racer and E85 carb builder

Pumping the gas is all it needed. Now I need to get it dialed in so I can stop crying after it's running. Burns the crap out of my eyes. _________________ 64 Nova 2 Dr HT
