| I just bought a 14.2 to 1 engine, it's a 430 aluminum rodeck with 12 degree brodix heads. it's a dirt track motor. I'm going to run an f2 procharger on it, but would like to run the thing in my chevelle for a while this year while saving for the new build. It's an alcohol motor complete with carb and all. First question, has anyone personally ran this much compression on e85 and is it advisable to run the alcohol carb. Thanks in advance! |

ddo2000 Yes you can run 14.2 to 1 with e85 (summer blend) and no the alcohol carb set up would flow to much fuel, about 70% more than would be needed to run e85 properly. Don't know what you have for a carb, but whatever it is, it probaly will have to be recalibrated for e85. Hope this helps Ron _________________ ron |

| My drag race engine runs on summer grade E85. This engine is 511 CID, 13.5 compression ratio, with a cam of 279 degrees duration at 0.050" tappet lift. I have also run it on methanol. Different calibrations for different fuels (mechanical injection). Not the same carb. |
