You dont need to rebuild the engine, or make drastic changes to the fuel system. At most larger injectors and some tuning. The fuel system is already capable of running ethanol without adverse effects.

Ive been considering running my 92 F150 on ethanol, havent tried it yet mainly because I rarely drive it. Its been a while since I messed with the 88 EFI on Fords, I cant remember if you can reprogram those, or if they are mass air or speed density.

An end around to making tuning changes in the computer is to up the fuel pressure and install larger injectors. That is if it shows lean, it might not since one of the systems Fords used around that time would compensate and run pretty well on ethanol. I cant remember which one it was though. Memory fails me at this point.

So, you could try it out, mix in E85 in larger amounts with each fill until you are on all E85. Keep track of the percentage you put in and that will give an idea of what it will take for a complete conversion.

There is a Ford guy on here who has a Tbird from before OBDII, he might have some insight if he sees this.

Thanks I was hoping that was about it. New injectors/fuel pump are pretty cheap mods to make. As far as the tuning the mass air I belive that I can just buy a new mass air to match the injectors I put in it.

Is this a daily driver that will not be run in wide open throttle?
Or performance application?

The later of the two applications will require a bit more care in sizing injectors since WOT is open loop on an '88- right?
