Hey there. I'm Gary, the GT-labs guy that posted on your board .
Every manufacturer is going to be a bit different. Personally, I don't know what will be needed for your car to run it successfully. Some cars needed completely new fuel lines to run it. My Subaru just needed a new fuel pump and a fuel pressure tweak.
For starters, try low mixtures for a few tankfulls and play with your fuel pressure. Keep it around 33%. Heck, just play with 1/2 tanks and see what happens. No need to use a full tank to test it. All you're doing is playing with ratios of ethanol to gas. Stock cars seem to handle 33% mixtures without much trouble. WIth obd1, though, the ECU is a bit "dumber". If you have a 1 wire o2 sensor it might have issues getting the mixture right. A wideband o2 sensor might be a good idea. Also watch for fuel line swelling and use your nose to sniff out leaks. Run synthetic oil if you want to do long term testing. Mobil1 full synthetic works wonders. Dino oil gets kinda gritty from the testing I've done with long term use. A tank or two shouldn't hurt, but I don't know what kind of blowby you have.
C/N: try a gallon or two of E85 mixed with 3-4 gallons of gas. 87 or 91 octane doesn't matter. Play with increasing your fuel pressure a bit. I tune a lot by ear and butt and I know how "lean" and "rich" feels when I drive it. _________________ http://www.grantouringlabs.com My ethanol conversion and tuning site. |

| i will switch my car over to synthetic in about 700 miles so i can start playing around with it. i really would like to make a complete switch to e85 but i'm not entirely sure what i need. i know there are several wideband o2 sensors made for mr2's so that shouldn't be a problem. could you point me to some more deffinative resourses on this? thanks! |

Does anyone know if a wideban O2 sensor can be put on a car that has a normal one?
