The Wisconsin State Assembly passed their Assembly Bill 15 on December 15th, which sets rules for ethanol content in motor fuel. See http://www.legis.state.wi.us/spotlight/ . It specifies that regular 87-octane fuel contain between 9.2 percent and 10 percent ethanol.

Wasn't it just a year ago that Nebraska voted down a proposal to mandate E-10?

Hi,

Last I read on the subject it seems like it has support from the Gov. and both the WI Assemby and WI Senate so it might actually happen.

Now what the local public reaction may be we'll have to wait and see.

SE WI has been using E10 for almost 10 years so there probably won't be as big an problem here. Everywhere else may be a problem. Smile

The north Wisconsonites will probably discover the benefits of 10% ethanol in eliminating fuel-line icing (how many bottles of HEET would you need to add to get to 10% ethanol!).

For western Wisconsin, it seems like half of the stations I stopped at last summer offered an E-10 midgrade fuel. The midgrade was often priced the same (or even cheaper) than 87-octane regular. I wonder how they'll price things if the 87-octane is also E-10.
