With the myriads of engine treatments available at your local auto parts store that you mix with gasoline in a 1:32 or 1:64 ratio that claim to get you more power, reduce emissions and clear out the gunk, what do you think a full tank of E85 could do for you?

What if everyone in America ran just 1 complete tank of E85 through their car? Sure many might have to suffer through a week or two of stuttering engines, but when it was all said and done, do you think the cars would be better for it?

One tank of nearly clean burning fuel to get rid of the Dino-Deposits!

I suppose the ethanol industry could bottle it up and sell it as the magic potion like those mysterious "petroleum distillates" products are or as a third version of "Heet" but then we would have to be quiet about the fact we get all that free w/ e85 and e10.

Seriously- I never cease to be amaized when I glance in the trash by ethanol pumps -how many bottles of injector cleaner, octane enhancers, and Heet I see there. The consumer just does not know any better- and those are the ones who are pro-ethanol enough to use e10 and e85!!!

I would think a 40-50% mix would work just fine. Maybe two tanks worth.

Petroleum Distillates is just a euphemism for Naptha aka lighter fluid.

Zippo lighter fluid is an excellent degummer and degreaser. I use it for cleaning computer screens and laptop cases. (Wipe on and off fast and it takes off the grease and doesn't damage the plastic). Also it is very good for cleaning stickers off glass or other surfaces (it's the main ingredient in Goof-Off gum remover)

Actually most of these engine treatments are various combinations of one or more of the following:

Naptha
Xylene
Isopropyl Alcohol
Acetone

All of which are available from either your local drug store or hardware store.

My mom was having a problem with some water in her tank, so I just picked up a liter of 90% Isopropyl Alcohol for about $1.00 and dumped it in. Problem solved. It's cheaper and probably more effective than "Heet" water remover (which is basically the same thing)

you know that you can empty your gaz tank when it is almost empty with the gaz tank's plug ... as the water have more density than fuel, it will go to the bottom. (same thing as for airplanes, you can verify the water in the gaz tank in the wings with some kind of an alcool shooter with a pin in the center ... ! )

Cost of a 100$ batch of distilled ethanol ?
Priceless

Anyone that does run E-85 through I would seriously change your fuel filter right away.
