Engine same as used in Audi A8, VW Tourage V8,

Anyone know about Fuel Lines, Tank, Fuel Pump, Gaskets etc. Compatability.

Any thoughts appreciated. Considering a Prepackeged Still as no Ethanol station atound, Planning on buying a plug and play convertor to work with Lamba (oxygen ) sensor and injector pulse length modifying module, Ie Flex Teck or similar. Any suggestion here welcome also, Recommendations as to source, and the like

Thanks, GripperDon

GripperDan- Be aware that if you are going to make your own ethanol you will need to be more careful with the metals you have in your fuel system if you do not make a 200 proof (anhydrous) version like the ethanol fuel industry makes. We also add corrosion inhibitor. I encourage you to make your own ethanol but if it is not <0.08% H20 it will be far more corrosive and at 190 proof (5%) H20 it will phase separate from gasoline if you try to run it as E85 instead of straight. You can successfully do this but watch out for the soft metals like aluminum and brass when using "wet" alcohol. Most ethanol plants use stainless steel in their systems up to the point in the process that the alcohol has passed through the molecular sieve (final dehydration process)- after that point they will use mild steel and pumps may even have aluminum housings.

I relly hope to be able to buy it. But so far not even one public Ethanol source in Arizona. ( at least that I can find by internet search)

be aware that you will also void your warranty. even the typical extended warranties have clauses in them that state that running the engine on anything other than it was designed to run on from the factory will void the powertrain warranty. not sure if it's important to you, but it's something some people overlook..

With a plug and play system, Just disconnect the plugs and go back to gas.

Assume I do the correct things on the materials study and all materials in contact with the fuel are OK, raising the ethanol from 10% (our summer blend) to E85, I feel that Ethanol should not harm anything. What do you think?

VW is particulary interesting to me because of the large presence in Brazil. I'm not clear if all VWs made in Brazil are flexfuel or all VWs sold in Brazil are flexfuel, but in either case VWs have been running on ethanol (E100 in Brazil) for several years. Since VW uses lots of shared components, I wonder what impact that has on US market VWs ?
