|
|
The Holiday on Lyndale South is closed. Below is an email I sent to Holiday asking about the closure, and requesting that they sell E85 near South Minneapolis. I will update when I receive a reply.
| Quote: | I noticed that Holiday Station Store #73 (8401 Lyndale Av S, Bloomington MN 55420) appears to be closed for construction or demolition (the pumps appear to be gone as-of Saturday). Can you provide any information about whether the closing is temporary or permanent?
Also, while the rest of the Twin Cities metro is dotted with stations which carry E85 fuel, this station was one of the few near southwest
Minneapolis to offer E85 fuel. For example, I live near Station Store #42, and need to travel about 24 miles (round trip) to fuel at the nearest Holiday E85 fueling station (Station Store #317 in Plymouth).
It would be very helpful if Holiday Station Stores would consider selling E85 fuel from one of the stations in south or southwest Minneapolis, such as store #42, #2, #9, #25, #209, or #332. I would like to continue making a stop at Holiday for fuel, coffee and a donut, a part of my morning routine.
Thanks for your time and attention,
|

I received a reply from Holiday. It sounds like the store is closed for about the next four months, but will be coming back .
| Quote: | The store is being rebuilt and will open sometime in November. We are not expanding the number of stores that sell E-85. I think the closest store to your location is #245 on Old Shakopee and Normandale Blvd.
Thanks,

However, I was surprised to read his blanket statement that Holiday is not adding E85 anywhere new... not even a "we'll watch the sales figures and will add new E85 locations as necessary" kind-of message (which is what I'd expect from a customer service rep); just a flat "no new stations" statement. This isn't encouraging, especially since I have been pestering the manager at my local Holiday to add E85 . |

| You probably noticed that November came and went, but Holiday #73 on Lyndale is still under construction. Better late than never, the store manager reports that the station will re-open on Tuesday (Jan. 11, 2005), and will continue to sell E-85 fuel. |

I bought E-85 at the newly-rebuilt Holiday Station #73 on Lyndale Ave. south of I-494. The new red E-85 pump is visible to passing cars on Lyndale. It now accepts pay-at-the-pump, a big improvement.
