What makes sense for convential I.E. engines is a universal, nation wide: UNI Grade Fuel. What we have presently is a hold over from the days of: Regular, & Ethyl gas. A Uni grade fuel, Ethanol blend, something like an: E-30 (?) with a grade (Octane) to be determined by the Refiners as to what would produce the greatest quanity of gas refined per barrel of crude oil. Than, what % of ethanol could be added to burn in vehicles presently on the road w/o modification.
What I've discovered when promoting: E-85, & Bio-Diesel to fueling stations is that 1st , their owned, or franchised by an Oil company which will not allow alternative fuels. And, space. Many of them said they'd be willing, or want to sell these fuels, but they just don't have the space for them.
A Uni grade fuel, would substancially reduce refining costs, & free up tanks for other types of fuels; bio-diesel.
