Anyone see the July 2005 issue of Popular Science?
It has a brief article on the new E85-capable Saab 9-5 Turbo. They have actually 'optimized' it somewhat to E85 for more horsepower (at no fuel economy loss) at highway speeds. More horsepower and higher top-end speed.
They hint that it may be available in the USA next year.
Email Saab USA and let them know you want more:

| I recently spoke with SAAB about the 9-5. This vehicle has too little horsepower for them to consider bringing it as designed to the U.S. Their market research shows you must have a minimum of 250 horsepower for the U.S. They are taking a model of this car on tour across the U.S. to all of the car shows, seeking input. As the original poster stated, let SAAB know you are serious and that this car is in demand. |

Hi!
I just recently read that Saab WILL produce their 300hp (or so...) Aero with flexifuel capability. It might be thanks to the US then I guess...
There is also a note... the 2.0T Biopower produced 193 bhp in a test (Swedish technical magazine) as opposed to the 180 hp it promises. _________________ Should we really destroy our ethanol by pouring GAS into it? |

| They need to look at the FFV market separate from the car market. The Aero will be a good choice for people who would otherwise buy a WRX. But other segments of the FFV-buying market would be better addressed other ways. I'd bet that a FFV 9-2X and SUV would have the largest buy-in from the SUV market. |
