So, how would a natural aluminum fuel cell stand up to E85?
RCI 2200A for example.
How long can a car sit with a carburator full of E85? 5 days in the humidity of summer? 10 days?
Do you recommend a top end lubricant? _________________ Never start fast projects with half fast ideas! |

Fastrip- we all moved to another site due to the spammer that keeps attacking here. Go to e85forum.net because I doubt many will see the post here since the spammer will post over it or fill the site with posts that push it out of vision.
I would like Mark to address the carb question since he lives down in Missouri, does e85 carbs as a business, and it is VERY humid there.
Aluminum fuel cell are commonly used but it is a very good idea to keep it full and seal the tank vent when not in use so that there is no air moving in and out of the tank as would occur in expansion/contraction. If you do not seal the cell then air moving in and out does bring moisture and this could start an acidic reaction or a white sludge after a good while.
I have aluminum filter bases in my pumps and they still look like the day they were put into service BUT- the fuel is fresh and no air can get to the fuel. |
