Guys:
E85 blend variations have nothing to do with the ethanol-blended gasoline (oxyfuel) areas. The original blend specs were done by automakers building the FFVs.
You may download the E85 handling guide that contains all this info from www.E85Fuel.com.
The ethanol content of E85 changes seasonally (much like gasolines do) and by geographic location.
Hope the Taurus/dealer thing works out -- Please keep us posted on the progress.

I posted the update (http://thesins.blogspot.com/2005/09/anger-e85-report.html) on my fun with Ford at my blog (http://thesins.blogspot.com).
Short version for the "too lazy to click-n-read" crowd
They started out with the "Run E85 or E10, not a mix" storyline, which I slapped down with a reference to the owner's manual and a call from the Ford Customer Care people.
They were persuaded to find the TSB which led them to some computer software updates. WAY more effort than the local dealer, too bad I have to slap them around some.
Time will tell of the software updates will fix it, from what was said here it sounds like it was always a software problem in the "calc mix from exaust" routines. |
