Does anyone know what fuel pumps can be used with E-85? I am looking to convert the racecar.

We need a bit more information --- how much fuel do you need to move and at what fuel pressure.

Several off us running EFI are using walbro 255/hr HP pumps with no problems, on the imports even though they are not "recommended" to be used with E85.

I would presume that all the top end Aeromotive alcohol pumps would work fine.

Check out the magnafuel pumps. They are all approved for alcohol, etc. Sounds like you're running a carbed setup.

I was wondering about my fuel pump I just bought a 255 hp for my setup (w/o e85) and was wondering if I had to change it out. I have also heard that I will have to run different injectors due to the corrosiveness of e85 and new fuel lines. The car is a 91 Honda crx with an 11 to 1 compression motor with nitrous.

I'm running the Walbro 255/hr pump in my 1999 Nissan 200SX without any bother so-far... now admittedly it's only been 2 or 3 months since I got it done but at the end of the day it's just a liquid pump & E85 flows about as easily as petrol so I don't see why it should be an issue.

Sure haven't Brazil been running 100% ethanol in their cars for years without us hearing of any major mishaps? Fuel-pumps included?

As for the injectors I had to change mine to bigger ones (from 550cc to 740cc) when I converted to E85 because at peak usage they were pushing the 100% duty cycle. Now with the 740cc ones I'm using about 80% at peak power.

I'm running a 4-cylinder 2L turbo at 1.2bar & producing 325bhp & about 330lbs/ft of torque if that makes any difference.

wow this is very good power on a 2l turbo lol

i'm thinking about 12:1 compression + light turbo boost on e85

i'd excpect to get similar power numbers

Can E85 handle 12:1 without detonating? Nevermind your internals??

Yes if the tune is reasonable, you should have no problems at 12:1 in an NA engine that is in good condition. We have folks running cars on that sort of compression ratio and E85 right now.

Your pump and injectors shojld be fine. E85 isn't corrosive but Methanol is.
