| I've gotten some information about this before, but has anyone had any experience in using E85 in a 1986 to 1993 Ford Ranger, specifically a Ranger powered by the 2.9 Liter engine? |

Well, said as it is my main problem is the lack of E85 in our area, I've only been able to get E10, but even the owner's manual confirms the use of that. My next step I'd like to take is anodizing the upper and lower intake manifold, just as a preventive measure if nothing more from the vapors and possible contact with an alcohol fuel. This is pure speculation, but from the information I can find I believe that the Bronco II EEC-IV computer is programmed with a specific fuel map just for alcohol fuel. That would explain the results with your friend’s 1990 Ranger. I also have spoken to some people on one of the Bronco II and Ranger Forums and there is at least one person who has had success in using E85 in a Bronco II without any modifications. |

I've been running a 50/50 blend of eth/unleaded for around 6 years now with my 92 Toyota 4x4 22RE engine unmodified. It has an aluminum fuel rail and intake manifold, steel gas tank---so far no problems.

Have you notice any changes whatsoever, as in decrease or increase in fuel mileage? Where do you get a 50/50 blend? |

I mix E85 with 10% to come up with my 50/50 blend. I'm not real exacting when I mix and probably been as high as 60% ethanol. The other day I just put in winter blend(70%) ethanol and not 10% and it looked like it was starting to go a little lean so added some more 10%. I have a Split Second LED mixture meter hooked up to the oxygen sensor that reads between 17 and 12.5 A/F ratio based on gasoline.. I know the actual ratio is different with ethanol but the rich lean reading is all I care about. I haven't taken accurate fuel mileage stat's but pretty sure I'm not getting as good of mileage. I don't drive like a race driver either.

Dose your vehicle measure mass air fuel with a MAP sensor in the speed density system or a Mass Air Flow sensor? |

to install the flex tex unit you only have to unplug the fuel inj. and plug it in the plug from the unit and plug the one from the unit to the fuel inj. than ground the flex tex unit box black wire to ground. mount the box and switch it to what you are going to use for fuel, E 85 or reg gas
