Howdy,
Stumbled across the forum whilst looking for information on how my antiquated cars would cope with ethanol.. Figured I'd stick around as I might learn something..
I'm in Bristol, UK, and my focus of interest is a 1991 VW Scirocco that's getting a restoration and engine conversion. Whilst it's in bits I'm trying to future-proof it as much as possible, which includes the provision for alternative fueling.
anyway, hi all..

Welcome to the board!
I'm sure you'll find some interesting reading, and I know you probably have some info that will be of use to others. The more minds to draw from, the more likely we are to have access to those little hard to find bits of information that will help folks solve problems.

Carb? god no!
Okay, one of my rocco's has a carb, but that's not the subject of my interest, it's going back to its true owner once I've got the other one back on the road.
The project rocco had fuel injection -K-Jetronic which is a mechanical CIS system. The replacement engine will either run with that or KE-jetronic, which is essentially the same but with a knock sensor and Lambda feedback.. I get the feeling it'll be hard work converting CIS to E85 as there are many components that are exposed to fuel..
Megasquirt is beginning to look quite attractive... |
