http://www.engr.unl.edu/~ethanol/unl-sae2.pdf

University of Nebraska Lincoln converts a 1999 Chevy Silverado to E85.

A must read as it as some interesting tidbits and techniques especially in the area of experimental improved cold weather use.

I think this is SAE paper number 1999-01-3517 or 2000-01-0590. Unknown because it is not labeled in the pdf.

Thank you for posting this Revision- it was an excellent read, I am tempted to call the University to see what they ended up for mpg with this when driven conservatively (if it is possible to do this w/o being tempted to stomp on it), also wondered what octane of NL it could run on if e85 is not available.

Don't thank me, thank Scoobydoc for getting me all riled up on a subject of the explosive nature of E100 under freezing conditions.

I'm still doing research on this.
(Even a side concern that E85 may be explosive under freezing conditions, except for the fact that the vapor pressure of E85 appears to be nearly the same as gasoline. ie I'm not done yet, but it looks ok so far.)

The link I found during the course of the research, and it looks like Scoobydoc found the same link as I did. Thanks to Imprezarsc for forwarding additional data on this as well as confirming the link.
