Are the standard red gasoline storage cans acceptable for the slightly corrosive properties of E85? I haven't seen any documents on that topic as of yet.
I just converted my '99 Mustang to E85, still working out the tune as we speak. _________________ '99 Mustang GT, Vortech Supercharged, now running E85 full time.

I have stored E85 for reasonable periods of time ( couple months ) in standard HDPE gas cans with no problems.
Seal tightly, store in the shade, and if extended storage is planned, I bag the can in a heavy weight 3 mil black plastic trash bag, so the fuel container is protected from rain and snow.

Hey Hotrod, I assume you were the one who wrote the Wikipedia article on our wonderful fuel. You were the only one up to now that actually answered my questions of how to read the AFR on a standard gasoline AFR wideband. My hat's off to you for including such great detail. _________________ '99 Mustang GT, Vortech Supercharged, now running E85 full time.

Thanks for the kind words --- glad the info helped but I cannot take full credit for the wiki article. I wrote much of the info on fuel air mixtures and the advantages of using turbo charged engines. My guess is that 3 or 4 of the folks here on the form did about 90% of the original page, although there have been lots of minor edits by others over time.
