well as is says i have 90 honda crx that is a drag race car. I would like to convert this to e85 and had some questions.
i would like to conver this because i still drive it back and forth from the track and i have buring up $7.00 a gallon race fuel this is my engine setup
i have a 12:1 compresion 1.8L with 440cc injectors. a standalone AEM EMS to tune with. Im also runing 125hp of nitrous on the car this is where i need the extra octane.

well on to the questions

what is the correct lambda readings for wide open throtle and stoich.

can my fuel lines handle this i think in 90 they are steel not alum.

do i need to worry about my car expliding from vapors in the fuel tank due to ethanol being cunductive

will my aluminum fuel rail and regulator hold up they are anodized

does ony ine know the diffrence im specific gravity of E85 and gasoline so that i can calculate nitrous jetting sizes

i think that is it for now but im sure i will have more questions latter

97hatch- I will address a few of your questions that I am sure about.

Fuel lines/rails-steel or anodized aluminum will be fine.

Specific gravity- I do not have this handy but e85 is heavier- a full load of e85 summer blend will scale out at 8100 gallons vs. conventional NL gasoline which will scale out at 8500 gallons. Straight denatured ethanol 8000 gal., diesel at 7500 gal. From this info calculate the %.

If memory serves me right, that is saying a "full load" on a truck as you stated is "more dense" for a given amount? I know how specific gravity applies to such things as a battery, just kickin' out the cobwebs when it comes to other fluid measurements... Any refresh u could give on that would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

What I am saying Corn Squeezins- that a gallon of E85 weighs more than a gallon of gasoline. The load sizes are limited by total weight rather than volume. Is that what you were asking?

Ethyl alcohol, or ethanol, is a colorless, clear, volatile liquid. It is polar and soluble in water, with a specific gravity of 0.8, which is lighter than water. It is highly flammable with a flammable range of 3.3 to 19% in air. The boiling point is 173? F and the flash point is 55? F. The vapor density is 1.6, which is heavier than air. The ignition temperature is 685? F and ethanol is classified as a depressant drug with a TLV of 1000 ppm in air. The four-digit UN identification number is 1170. The NFPA 704 designation is health 0, flammability 3, and reactivity 0. The primary uses are as a solvent, in beverages, antifreeze, gasohol, pharmaceuticals, and explosives. The structure and molecular formula for ethyl alcohol are shown below.
