Just checked the plant logs and sometimes we hit as high as 36% solids going to fermentation with the new enzymes.

It makes sense for me to keep the water instead of dumping it too. Means less I have to collect from rainwater. Im still working out how much solid I can use with the yeasts since its kind of a pioneering effort with the cattails. When I get it worked out I'll let you know what works best.

Different feedstocks have different requirements, finding out what works best is just part of the fun. Smile

I saw the cat tails mentioned in a post on one of the links you sent me , theres a metric $h!t ton of those around me lol

I am back to the drawing board now that I know 10% ish is the net alc after distilling - not going to apply until I come up with a larger distiller , a quart of fuel at a time wont get me to the corner store and back lol

Murph- you probably did not mean what you said " After distilling is only 10%" --- that is the raw beer before distilling- but yes- a bigger fermentation vat and and evap pot would be good. Laughing

no I wasnt referring to alcohol concentration of the distilled alcohol , I was referring to the amount of alcohol out of the un distilled mash like thumpin said 5 gallons of alcohol out of a 55 gallon drum of mash - roughly 10%

or 1 quart out of a 10 quart pressure cooker still again roughly 10%
