Hello,
i read a few posts where people asks about Flextek so i thought i might as well post my experiences with it.
I installed A Flextek in my 1994 Audi 100 avant 2.6 l V6 in early spring last year. The installation it self, wich is really simple, took about 30 mins. and it dosent include anythig more advanced than plugging and unplugging connectors. I my case, however, the polarity in the injectionplugs where reversed, something that is not very common. It took me about an hour to reverse the polarity on the Flextek connectors with a homemade tool (if you don't want to go through that, there is adapters available).
After that i went to the nearest gas-station with a E85 pump and filled it up, set the swith to A-postion and i havent touched it since. The car runs like a dream, much smoother and with a definite performance gain noticeble at low revs. The fuelconsuption went up 20-25% at first then after a few weeks it went up to over 50% and i began to worry a bit but then i read that it might take a while for the ECU to adapt, and after a few weeks it dropped down again to 30%, and stayed there.
Below +5 C i need to have the engineheater (electric) on to start the car in the morning but after that its never any problem to start.
Now i've had it installed for a bit over 10.000 km. and i am totally satisfed, i hvaent had any problems with it at all. It just works.
I even recently started a small busseniss importing and selling Felxtek (It is in Sweden so i hope i don't brake any forum rules by posting this) with website @ www.etanol-i-tanken.nu (unfortunely only in Swedish).
My conclusion is, if you considering to convert to E85 and have a car that is compatible with Flextek, get one! You wont regret it.
Best regards

Here in the U.S. the E85 gasoline is a little differant than in Sweden. I get around 15% less MPG. I have a 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 with 15,000 miles on it sense I installed the Flextek converter. Works great!
I heard from someone else that in Sweden they get around 30% less.
What Octane is the fuel their?
I think E85 here it is 105 _________________ Jeremy Nicholls |

| E85 in the US varies in octane from 100 to 109 depending on the season and gasoline used to blend the different ratios. Summer E85 (15% gas) made with 87 octane NL would be 109.1 octane vs. 106.5 octane made with natural gasoline. Winter E85 (30% gas) would be 105.2 octane made with 87 octane NL or 100.1 octane if blended with natural gasoline. Fall and spring blends would be about mid-point of the above octanes. |
