Cant seem to get enough fuel

Im confused on this. What orifices? Are you talking about the main well.

Hopefully the HSB thing works for ya.

From where I see things either your meterblocks arent modified correctly or you are not getting any PVCR fuel.
Do a search on this site. There are specs on what sizes to make things in the metering blocks.

In the main well there were some tubes with holes in them that the fuel would run through. They were a huge restriction. I removed them and plugged the tops of the metering blocks.

I did a search on the sight, but cannot find anything for a twin carb blown application.

It was too windy to take the boat out yesterday, hopefully it will be calmer today.

Did you drill emulsion holes after you removed the emulsion tubes?

We copied my friends e85 metering blocks. My metering blocks had a total of four emulsion holes per metering block (two per side). I dont have a small enough drill to measure these here.

slowboyo Those 4 emulsion holes should be about .028, you need to drill & tap those blocks to accept the proper size emulsion bleeds or start over with a different set of blocks. With the blocks you took the tubes out of, did you measure the main well, to see if they are big enough now ? If you need to change the boosters, Quick Fuel & BLP has them. You said you had a booster install tool, if not there are guys on here who can install them properly and the main body's should not be gone long, Just don't want to see you hurt the motor. Ron

slowboyo Didn't you say you drilled the 4 emulsion holes out to .081. Did you edit that post?, or did i read that someware else.

Final tune and jet adjustment information that was found to be interesting.

Mother Earth publication "ethanol fuel" 1980. Should be easy to find.

From the short amount I browsed over it looks like they covered most of the work that needs to be done for a conversion on a carb including more timing needed for idle and cruise.

I also noticed they increased jetting by increasing the diameter of the orifice by 30-40%. Now its usually done by increasing the AREA of the orifice by 30-40 %.

It is hard to say, and there are guys more expert in E85 carbs than me on this board.

IMO, those twin carbs are giving a small signal to the boosters. So around 0.170" boosters should help flow more fuel. What size are they now?

What size did you drill out the main wells to? I am thinking around 0.160"-0.172" should do it.

But the 0.025"-0.028" high speed bleeds would be easy to try first.

Yea, on my Holley 950HP -1 carb they were originally about 0.086" stepped to about 0.029" where they intersected the main well. Models may vary...

I took the boat out with the smaller high speed bleeds in it. It would hardly run at cruise or full throttle because it was so rich. My wide band sensor quit on me so I am not sure how rich it was Embarassed . I will get a new sensor and then do some tuning. It will be alot easier to lean it out.

I cant remember off the top of my head what the main wells were drilled out to.
