First time out without fighting chassis/alignment etc. Did some tuning with fresh engine with 12.7:1 compr. Old best was 9.514 NEW best 9.501!
A mere .002 from the fourties. I am pretty sure it could use more jet(my LM2 is on it's way back from innovate)
Last fall it ran 6.04 in the 1/8. Yesterday 5.99=more torque down low!
This is with my 950 HP converted by Mark Sullens.
Thanks, Mark! newalky |

Your welcome Don,
Wish more people would just listen the way you did...lol
guess you can lead horses to water but you can make them drink..
.you know how good that water is!.....congrats!
for the record, Don was running alot slower than the 6.04...the 6.04 was after the conversion....the 5.99 came after a few more mods were made. _________________ http://www.marksullense85carburetors.com |

That is correct Mark. Last fall was with the E85 conversion.
The year before 2008 in similar air with a well sorted out 950 HP on GAS it ran 6.13 in the 1/8th! So a fresh engine with more compr. 12.75:1 had 11.5:1 before equals .15 of a second compared to a GAS carb.
E85 makes a lot more torque AND runs cooler. newalky |

Nice going. I love new best runs.
5.99 ET in the 1/8th is pretty fast. That will get people's attention.
And I like the 9.50 too.
What mph and weight are you running? |

Jim 113 mph in the 8th. 138.6 in 1/4. My LM2 was being repaired, I think it could use more jet. Will find out next time out!
The car weighs 2755# with me in it. newalky |

Sunday was my 2nd day off in 34 days. We also figured this would be the last good weather day this year.
My crewchief Dave and I went to Union Grove WI and did some tuning to get a NEW BEST!!
5.973 in the 1/8th mile @ 113.97MPH
9.465 in the 1/4 @ 139.5 MPH
The DA was 500' worse Sunday than on my previous best.
Very good way to end season, newalky |
