Hello, I am new here and have a 2005 Mustang GT with a built stroker motor stock heads and cams, F1A Procharger and I run E85. I've been working on my tune and have maxed out my FRPP 80lb injectors as well. I am also at the limits of my fuel pumps as well. My fuel system consists of FRPP 80lb injectors aftermarket fuel rails, #8 fuel line, Fore Precision works Triple pump hat with 3 Ford GT (supercar) fuel pumps with a Zone 5 performance Mega Driver Module to power each of the 3 pumps. This is a returnless setup.
Other mods include TR6060 6 speed transmission, Spec Twin Disc Clutch, Moser Axles, Detroit Tru-Trac diff.
Here is a dynograph from my last tuning session. the first run is the first run on the dyno that day. The tune needed some work since the last time I had a Spec Stage 3+ clutch in the car that was slipping above 6000rpm. The Spec twin disc is holding great for me now. I am running a 4.30" pulley on the F1A and I have seen up to 27psi of boost on the dyno at 7000rpm.
I think I am experiencing some spark blow out up top which is why the graph gets a bit jagged. Once I sort that out I hope for a few more HP up top as the car sits.
I have been looking at my data logs more closely and I am maxing out both my fuel pumps and injectors at the very end of the run. I am running a 50 or 55psi base fuel pressure to help increase the output of the 80lb injectors but that still isn't enough. I have to go back and look at the tune to remember which it is.
I am seeing a max fuel flow of 13.2lbs/min of fuel at the max. I believe this number is a bit high because the fuel pumps are being commanded to deliver more fuel after the fuel injectors max out the computer tries to deliver more fuel by increasing the duty cycle of the injectors as a result.
To be safe I will take that 13.2lb/min as a worst case senario. 13.2lbs/min converts to 792lbs/hr. Divide that by 8 and comes means I need about 99lb/hr injectors. This is with 50 or 55psi base fuel pressure so I believe that 120lb/hr injectors will be enough. right now.
I am looking into purchasing a set of 120lb/hr low impedance injectors, and AEM injector driver box and a custom harness that will let me connect the driver box to my EV6 plugged stock wiring harness and not having to splice any wiring from Racetronix[/img] _________________ 2005 Mustang GT

Welcome to the board.
Be careful lwith that AEM Injector driver box. I had a couple of them loose some drivers.
With the AEM you really don't need the driver box for 120lb injectors if you're running on E85. _________________ AWD MOTORSPORTS 8.75@162 EVO8 GSR E85

I'm not really following why I wouldn't need the injector driver with the low impedance injectors? _________________ 2005 Mustang GT

I'm not saying you don't need the driver box. I'm saying you got to be carefull with the said driver box's reliability.
You can use resistor boxes in place of the driver to provide the correct load for the ecu. Many OEM applications use them. _________________ AWD MOTORSPORTS 8.75@162 EVO8 GSR E85

Ah gotcha. Is there a driver box you would reccomend? I'm really not ready to go to an aftermarket ECM as of yet because of having to do away with the drive by wire, variable cam timing, electronic gas pedal, ect. In other words its going to be damn pricey to do to a street car. _________________ 2005 Mustang GT

I've heard good things about the FJO injector driver but, i haven't had any personal experience with it. _________________ Boosted since 06-06-2006

I cannot reccomend a good driver box since they are all prone to mishaps. The FJO one from what I've seen is probably the more reliable of the both.
You can use a full stand alone but just in piggy back style. With your setup and most modern day applications you would use the factory ecu to controll everything except the ignition and fuel duties.
Once you figure everything out depending on the capabilities of the ecu then you can venture into letting the standlaone do the variable cam timing, DBW throttle etc.. Most of the times you stil got to leave the factory ecu in place to run the dash, CAN networking etc. _________________ AWD MOTORSPORTS 8.75@162 EVO8 GSR E85
