im after some feedback from people that were originally running FI and pulp then went over to running E85. What gains did you see when doing the change over from PULP to E85. Power, torque, 1/4 times etc etc.
Thanks |

20 years in the petro business and never heard it called that- must be a down-under thing What octane PNL (premium No Lead) were you running?
Might be helpful for best response to let us know what you have-- here is all I could find that you posted to date;
"Im running a stroked whipple blown combo and am wanting to run a 150shot of
gas, what afr's should i aim for @ WOT . also i know this question
vairies from engine to engine but what timing should i run with around
19-25psi when using the gas."
Perhaps some of the guys will chime in? |

On 91 octane, i run 22PSI @ 325WHP. On 100 octane, i run 25psi @ 350whp. On E85, i run 28-30PSI @ 380whp. I never ran the 1/4 mile and launched my car only once or twice ... _________________ '06 Evo IX Stage 1 by RRE,Walbro 255lph fuel pump,RC Engineering1000cc Injectors, AVO exhaust,RRE flash, (325whp @ 22PSI 91 octane, 353whp @ 25psi on 100 octane, 383whp @30psi on E85),Zeitronix wideband/Ethanol Content Analyzer, Defi gauges |

You will see about the same detonation resistance on E85 that you would see on a premium racing gasoline with an octane between 112-118.
Most folks are seeing a minimum of 5% increase in power/torque and on boosted engines over 10%, with a drop in ET of a couple tenths in most cases.
The cars midrange torque will improve noticably so it will be more happy to pull under load.
Engine EGT's will drop about 200 Deg F (100 C).
Start with the same ignition timing you would run with a top quality racing gasoline ( 112-118 octane), and shoot for a AFR of around 11.5 - 12.1 on a gasoline calibrated wide band. I would start on the rich side and lean it out until the car slows down, or the plugs tell you it is getting too hot.
