When did you get the E85 from the Hayward station? Last month something happened and it was only at approx 50% Ethanol content. We did some % tests and it was very cloudy and not very clear compared to E85 from the Concord station, which was good E85.

Currently the fuel is normal E85.

I know you guys went over this but its just an observation on a comment made. Years ago 7 or 8, a friend had a 41 Willys race car and the cell foam broke down and he only used race gas. Race fuels like C12 can be high in aromatics. My friends that have used E85 for a long time have done all kinds of testing for corrosion and have not had problems due to ethanol fuel.
I ran Alky for 3 years and using lube in it I could leave the alky which is a lot more corrosive then ethanol during a 1 week period between races, if it was 2 weeks I would drain it and flush it with gas/oil + Marvel Mystery oil mix.
I live in WNY where we have high humidity.
Just some thoughts.

Carlos

Wish I knew what was causing this gell, Because this week I switched it back over to race fuel and went racing at wed sears point it ran perfectly. Took the carb apart and it was cleaner than ever.

Situations like this, its good to have a way to measure the ethanol content so you know what's going into your tank:

If you have the opportunity, can you collect a small sample of that "gel"?
I know a guy that might be able to test it and see if he can identify it. He is trying to identify a sticky goo that a handful of people are finding on their fuel injectors and figure out what the source of the contamination is.

I am curious if your "gel" is the same stuff.
